"Female Rain, Hopi" 12x16 Historic Indigenous Painting
Description
"FEMALE RAIN - HOPI"
12" x 16" x .75" Original acrylic painting on canvas.
The ancient Hopi peoples live surrounded by the Navajos in Arizona. In the past and even today they live on high mesa's rising out of the Painted Desert. A female rain is a gentle shower and these Hopi maidens in their sheep-wool garments and distinctive hairstyles await the rain off in the distance. Painted from a B/W photo by Edward Curtis.
