Hidden on a forested mountainside, a trail led to and across, this shallow pool by way of a fallen log. The glassy surface shivered with water striders and other little beings dove for the blurry bottom. Dotted with fine pondweed and little islands of water plants the multitude of greens and the quiet of the water underworld felt deeply secretive.
