On a scorching hot day I ventured down the steep trail to the slot canyons of the Tranquille River. Having tread through knee to chest deep water exploring both slots I was chilled by the mountain fed river making the 35 degree heat feel really good.
There is a raw nobility in between the steep walls of volcanic flows laid down over 40 million years ago and that set my mind to wondering; this place feels like a secret vein
of the earth letting you feel the pulse of what really goes on.
